Most active times where 1/2 hour before low tide and one hour after. The tide here seems to be one hour and 15 minutes behind the published Nassau tide.
Every time I fished, the schools were moving from the west to the east. Wind was at my back as I was facing West.
I parked the kayak by a stick that was straight out from the house and about 5 degrees to the east. The stick was located about 75 yards from the sandbar at low tide.
I used the same fly each day which was a small Gotcha with gold beaded eyes.
Two days ago, I caught two bones with numerous schools passing through.
Yesterday morning, I saw hundreds of fish but there was no tailing and I did not catch any.
Today there was some tailing but mostly schools swimming through. I caught a 3 pounder and a 2 1/2 pounder. I had 20mph winds at my back which created some real challenges positioning the fly, but this also kept the fish from spooking so easily.
